Testimonials

‘We were fortunate to have met Kate before the pandemic and had her conduct a few in-person speech sessions for our then 2-year old son. She was incredibly warm, professional and immediately identified a potential speech condition that she felt warranted EI services, which our son had previously been denied services for. Our in person sessions were cut short, but Kate continued to check in on our son and serve as an advisor to us throughout the spring and summer. She went above and beyond and offered so much support to my husband and I, as well as our son. Having now worked with several speech therapists, I can say that Kate is best in class and her commitment to the children she works is evident at every session and the follow up texts and calls she provides. We look forward to being able to welcome Kate back into our home to continue to work with our son soon.”

“When we were first referred to Kate, we were confused and scared. Our son was diagnosed with a significant speech delay at 21 months old and we were going through the early intervention process. Kate came into our lives and helped us so much. She gave us strategies to help our son start talking more so we could work with him in between sessions. She gave a realistic assessment of what support he would likely need going forward. She explained how toddlers learn and use language, and how a back-and-forth exchange is the foundation for communication. She advised us about the early intervention process and what we should ask for. We ended up having two EI sessions per week and also had one session per week with Kate, which was invaluable. Kate really guided the treatment approach for the EI therapist as well. Kate celebrated our son's achievements with us and was always ready with advice about the next steps to take to push his language skills even further. Less than a year later our son is doing incredibly well. Everyone at his preschool tells us how strong his speech is, and we know that is -- in no small part -- thanks to Kate. If your child has been diagnosed with a speech/language delay or you are just concerned about your child's speech and want another opinion, bringing Kate into your support circle will be the best decision you will make!”

“It is hard to express how thankful our family is for Kate.  Her expertise, talent and love of children helped our two-year-old son quickly develop in both feeding and speech.  Not only did our son love spending time with her, but we as parents also benefited from her hands-on approach.  Kate often took the time to teach us her tactics to use at home, and was always willing to jump on a call to brainstorm additional ways to further his development.”

“My daughter had severe reflux associated food with pain. She refused to eat or drink anything and would be upset if we touched her cheeks or lips. With Kate’s intense feeding therapy sessions, she was able to overcome her oral and tactile aversions and was gradually weaned from 1.5 hour feeds to 40 minute feeds in addition to starting to enjoy solids and progressing to a straw cup at only 10months. Kate is incredibly gifted, intelligent, professional and empathetic. She taught us amazing techniques to help our daughter and always gave honest an appropriate feedback in a timely manner.”

“Kate is an amazing feeding therapist. My daughter has fairly extreme eating issues and we were lucky to find Kate to help her grow her list of acceptable foods. Kate is so great with kids and really knows how to make them feel comfortable and how to make trying new foods fun rather than scary. She uses a lot of varied techniques and makes it simple for parents to follow through when she is not around. She also goes above and beyond - even meeting us at a restaurant (pre-Covid) to help my daughter learn how to eat food that is prepared outside of the home. My daughter always looked forward to her sessions with Kate. I highly recommend her!”

“Before being a parent, I never knew how stressful mealtime could be. Fortunately, we found Kate and she helped us work through the feeding challenges with our toddler as a family.  Her approach is natural, patient and heartfelt; she was able to get on our son’s level and connect with him while also empathizing with us on how emotional the experience can feel. Thanks to Kate, mealtime is now our favorite time together as a family!”

“Kate was an instrumental part of my son’s feeding and speech therapy.  At the age of one my son was unable to eat and did not make any sounds.  Kate worked with my son for two years. He made immense progress in the area of eating and speaking.  Kate worked with me so that I could best support my son.  Her professionalism, kindness, and dedication as a therapist made it difficult to leave her when my son no longer needed her support.”

“Kate is an amazing speech therapist! Her knowledge and skills are spot-on; she quickly identifies an issue, determines an innovative way to solve it and provides tips for practice between sessions. Kate’s enthusiasm, coupled with her individualized and engaging techniques, made my daughter comfortable, receptive to therapy and, ultimately, able to meet her goals!”
